Kicking A Touchdown

The year is 2009. History is happening all around us, but Patrick Long and Kara Hollis (and occasionally Alasdair Wilkins) talk about nothing with the Harvard Football Team instead.

Monday Dec 28, 2009

Kara and I present the official final show of my tenure on Kicking A Touchdown.  In this show, we talk with newly crowned 2010 Harvard Football Captain, Colin Zych, and the new co-host for Kicking A Touchdown 2010, Nick Hasselberg.

In an episode one can only describe as shilling out product placement in the hopes of receiving free things, Alasdair Wilkins and I are joined by Matt Luft, Mike Cook and Collier Winters with a phone call from last year's halftime show host, Alex Breaux. We discuss why Maury is so darn entertaining, the confusion of the NFL schedule, Collier's doppelganger, pants, Luft's toe bounce, and the immune system of wide receivers. Then Alex Breaux and I fire questions back and forth in a coy challenge of wit and vigor.

Kara Hollis returns in a triumphant manner that would make Aragorn seem like a chump. In this, our final show of the regular season, we are joined by Alex Math and Ryan Burkhead to cover the riveting topics of Ryan's resplendent foot boot, plans for after graduation, gelly pens, Alex's handsome mug in GQ, The Patrick Officially Licensed Harvard/Yale Quiz, and the shocking conclusion of the season long contest of T Swift vs. Beyonce.

Alasdair Wilkins returns for the second week in a row, with Kara still out with the H1N1, to grace us with his wit and undeniable charm. Subjects this week to our combined witticisms and non sequiturs are Derrick Barker, Matt Hanson, and Dan Minamide. We chit chat about Derrick's love of the Jaguars and things he learned from Pacman Jones, Matt's loneliness on the field, the athletic selfishness of Anthony Spadafino, and Dan's secret romance with Taylor Swift.

Alasdair Wilkins returns to try to keep the shenanigans to their appropriate level with the line backing core of Nick Hasselberg, John Takamura, and JB Monu. JB tries to convince us that upstate New York is a tourist hot spot. We also analyze Tak's love of my sternum, Hass' secret dream to become a Pirate of the Crimibbean, anything Monu can do Monu can do, and my ability to still not be able to  break into the NBA Draft.

Kara Hollis returns this week with the assistance of the safeties, Ryan Barnes and Colin Zych, to help us choose hard hitters, discover causes of aggression (not just the medulla oblongata), the champion of Texas vs. Kentucky, and Colin Zych:John Lynch?

Throwing a crushing blow to the Rebel Alliance, noted Dark Lord of the Sith, Thomas Hull, graces us today with his presence. He freezes us in Carbonite with his Star Wars' knowledge, Folf, and our unbelievable athleticism. Can I assure our listeners that Thomas didn't control our actions with his force mastery? No, I can not.

Sunday Dec 27, 2009

Bad puns aside, this week we are joined by the heaviest group of men available, the offensive line-- starring Alex Spisak, Ben Sessions, Brent Osborne, John "Bubbles" Paris, and Kevin Murphy. Turning the Radio Room into a hotbox, we review hair flow, best dresser, coming to terms with your largeness, then losing it, and the unbelievable deliciousness of Arnold Palmers.

On this episode of Kicking A Touchdown we chat with running backs, Gino Gordon and Demetrius Gadson, about means of transportation, bumps and bruises, Harvard Football's resident Flash, and the supposed brilliance of idiot savant, Pinky.

Sunday Dec 27, 2009

To fight off the sophomore slump, Kara and I are joined by 2009's captain Mr. Carl Ehrlich (Errr-Lick), and we chat him up about his free burgers for life, being old now, and nickname creations.
